Dreamstorm

In order to move forward in a new way, we need to be able to imagine something that does not yet exist. We need hope, we need direction. Yet, it can be very hard to access our imagination and dreaming when we are stressed or exhausted. And many of us, because of the capitalist, patriarchal and white supremacist systems we live in, are stressed and exhausted (see: Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey).

While we work to change these systems overall, I want you to take your dreams back. Your dreams are yours

If you are exhausted, I recommend starting with rest (feel free to browse my growing Yoga Nidra “yogic sleep” library here). Creativity is born from rest, after all.

And then, when you are ready: DREAMSTORM. This practice is designed to meet you any time you want to access your dreams and creative ideas. My hope is that you can use it any time you get stuck. It will always be available to you, on my website for free.

I guide us through some gentle movement, a meditation, and some reflection questions to help us access a creative and connected state from which we can have access to dreaming, imagination and possibility. Always trauma-informed, with various options provided so you can meet your body where it is.

You may have a big vision you'd like to bring to life, one aspect of your work you are reimagining, or art that is ready to be made - all dreams are welcome. 🫶🏻

Setting up your nest: you may want to wear comfortable clothing, set out a mat or a carpet, bring a journal/paper and pen, any art supplies you have, pillows and blankets, and anything else you'd like to have nearby, like candles, tea, and your dog.
